Approving a request shouldn’t be the last a manager hears about it. When a manager approves an employee’s app access request, ShiftControl now adds them as a watcher on the request and on the task that sets up the access.
- See it through. Both items appear in the manager’s My Work Items, so they can check progress without asking IT.
- Updates by email. Managers get the usual watcher emails for status changes, comments and completion, so they know when access is ready.
- Only the actual manager. If an admin or a fallback approver signs off instead, they aren’t added as a watcher, unless they are the requester’s manager.
- Never in the way. Adding the watcher doesn’t slow down the setup task or the access grant.
