Your AI assistant could already look through your work items and file access requests for you. Now it can open any work item an admin can open in ShiftControl. Ask it to “open a task for the IT lead to check who still needs Figma, due Friday”, and it’s on the list.

How It Works

  • The same work items as the web app. Your assistant can create every type you can create from New work item, with the same details: title, description, assignee, app or group, the person it’s about, due date and parent item.
  • Assign by email. Give your assistant a teammate’s email and it finds them in ShiftControl. If that email has no ShiftControl login, it tells you before creating anything.
  • Titles written for you. For types ShiftControl knows how to name, you can leave the title out and ShiftControl writes it, just like in the web app.
  • It checks before it acts. Your assistant confirms each item before creating it, and tells you why if it can’t. That includes requests that go through approval, which skip the assignee and go to their approvers.
  • Find related items first. Your assistant can now list the open work items for a specific app or group, so it can check what’s already open before it adds another.

Getting Started

  1. Connect your AI assistant to ShiftControl, if you haven’t already.
  2. Make sure Work Items is turned on for your organization.
  3. Ask your assistant to create a work item, and confirm when it asks.

Need several items? Ask for them all, and your assistant creates them one at a time.
